Neutral Bathroom
A generous family bathroom,
making the wrong first impression.
The owners were happy with the size of their family bathroom. Everything else about it let them down: it was dated and dark, and a tired built-in bath was the first thing anyone saw from the corridor.
They wanted it bright and contemporary, with the calm of the boutique hotels they had stayed in abroad, and without giving up any of the space they already liked.
Brighter, simpler, and a better
view from the corridor.
Refresh the room with simple, clean lines and functional pieces, make the most of the natural light, and give it a sense of luxury the moment the fittings come into view.
The bath mattered more than it sounds. A bathroom seen from a corridor is judged in a glance, and in this one the glance landed on the least flattering thing in the room.
Light, then brass,
then storage.
Our designer worked directly with the owners on one complete solution for the room, practical first and then appealing, built in three moves.
- Tiling chosen to reflect light. A practical layout with clean lines and modern, light-reflecting tiles, so the room stays bright without adding a single fitting.
- Brushed brass against neutral tones. Brass fittings give the calm palette its warmth and its sense of luxury, and they are the detail that catches the eye from the door.
- Recessed cabinetry. Storage set into the walls rather than standing in front of them, adding space to a room that was already generous and keeping the surfaces clear.
A large bathroom does not need more features, it needs fewer and better ones. Taking things out of view and choosing a single warm metal is what turned a big, tired room into one that feels considered.
How this project ran.
The room was designed in 2D and matched with a full procurement list, so every tile, fitting and cabinet was agreed before work began and the design could be built exactly as drawn. It is the same approach as our room design packages, where bathrooms usually sit in Premium or Deluxe.
